Projects

A full-stack logbook and social app for student pilots. Log multi-leg flights, track progress toward FAA private pilot requirements, map routes automatically with ADS-B data, and share flights with friends. Built on a PostgreSQL schema that enforces logbook rules, 16,000+ U.S. airports in PostGIS, and a typed Fastify REST API.

An interactive 3D web app that animates 22,000+ flights over 23 years as arcs from origin to destination. Flight logs are parsed for ICAO airport codes into monthly JSON datasets of coordinates, and the interface is fully responsive on mobile and desktop.

A Python image-processing pipeline that automatically validates millions of exams, saving over 100,000 hours of manual labor annually. It extracts data from scanned pages with EasyOCR and OpenCV, resumes long batch runs from JSON checkpoints, and cut false positives 25x through iterative interpretation logic.

Software Engineer Intern

Pearson

  • Saved over 100,000 hours of manual labor annually with a Python image-processing pipeline that automatically validates millions of exams.
  • Extracted exam data from scanned pages with EasyOCR and OpenCV, and added crash recovery that resumes long batch runs from saved JSON checkpoints.
  • Reduced false positives 25x through iterative refinement of the interpretation logic, plus multithreading, SMTP status reports and configurable thresholds.
